Slab punching shear calculation is one of the mandatory calculations required during the structural design process for construction projects.
Key Differences in Slab Punching Shear Calculation According to TCVN 5574:2018

Under the new standard TCVN 5574:2018, which replaces TCVN 5574:2012, there is a significant change in the punching shear calculation for flat structural elements compared with the previous version: the effect of bending moments acting in the punching shear region is now taken into account.
One of the new points introduced in TCVN 5574:2018 [2] compared with the previous standard TCVN 5574:2012 [1] is the calculation of punching shear for flat structural elements such as floor slabs and foundation slabs.
Previously, the old standard [1] provided a simplified calculation method that only considered the effect of concentrated forces (punching forces) and did not account for the effects of bending moments acting in one or two directions, as commonly occurs in practice. The new standard TCVN 5574:2018 addresses this issue.
