LPC UBOT LIGHTWEIGHT SLAB SOLUTION – A GREEN SOLUTION

On the morning of October 26, 2018, a cooperation signing ceremony between Lam Pham Construction Co., Ltd. – LPC and Can Tho University was solemnly held at the Faculty of Technology Hall – Can Tho University.

Attending the signing ceremony, representing Lam Pham Construction Co., Ltd. LPC were Mr. Lam Hoang Trung – Director of the Southern Region; Mr. Do Manh Hung – Deputy Director of R&D; Mr. Dao Duy Van – Head of the Structural Engineering Department for the Southern Region; Ms. Pham Hong Kim – Head of Business Development for the Southern Region, together with other members of the company.

Representing Can Tho University were Mr. Ho Ngoc Tri Tan – Deputy Head of the Faculty of Technology; Mr. Dang The Gia – Head of the Department of Civil Engineering; Mr. Le Gia Lam – Head of the Department of Transportation Engineering; Mr. Tran Van Hung – Director of the Center for Construction Quality Inspection; Mr. Tran Vu An – Deputy Head of the Department of Civil Engineering, together with more than 120 staff, lecturers, and students of the Faculty of Technology – Can Tho University.

In addition, the seminar was attended by Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tai – Director of Thanh Dat Construction Company; Mr. Ho Chi Linh – Representative of Can Tho University of Engineering and Technology; Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh – Representative of Tay Do University; and Mr. Nguyen Chi Trung – Representative of the Construction Project Management Board of Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy.

At the seminar, LPC’s scholarship program received special attention, as LPC’s scholarship selection criteria focus on students with creative ideas, highly applicable scientific research topics, and students who make positive contributions to community activities.

In addition, students participated in direct interviews with LPC to share their career orientations and discuss scientific research products and technical solutions in construction.

At the same time, during the interviews, Mr. Lam Hoang Trung directly awarded LPC scholarships to 5 students with creativity, knowledge, boldness, and initiative, as well as 02 internship scholarships at any LPC branch nationwide to 02 students with the most creative ideas.

Not only that, the seminar also attracted active interaction from students around Mr. Lam Hoang Trung’s “The Engineer & Start up” story and how LPC brings the Ubot slab solution closer to customers in Vietnam.

Also at the seminar, Ms. Pham Hong Kim represented LPC in presenting the Green Solution – Ubot lightweight slab that LPC has implemented in the Vietnamese market.

Ms. Pham Hong Kim also introduced the outstanding advantages of Ubot slabs compared with other slab solutions on the market, including:

• Ability to achieve large spans.
• Effective sound and thermal insulation.
• Reduce construction costs by 10% – 20%.
• High aesthetics.

Mr. Ho Chi Linh – Representative of Can Tho University of Engineering and Technology, said that this is a new slab solution with many outstanding advantages, and he hoped that LPC could share documents and information about Ubot slabs and bring them closer to engineering students at universities in Can Tho City.

Students from Can Tho University were particularly interested in the Ubot slab solution and raised many technical questions. Mr. Lam Hoang Trung highly appreciated the students’ understanding of and interest in the new solution.

Due to the limited duration of the program, LPC was unable to answer all questions from the guests. LPC promised to return to Can Tho in the near future. The seminar ended at 11:00 a.m. on the same day.
